Spelling Bee

The following 4th grade students won their classroom spelling bees and participated in the school Spelling Bee this morning.

In partnership with the Get Georgia Reading Campaign, I am excited to share with you a new, FREE resource – GAREADY4K text message program for parents of 4 and 5 year old.  Families can opt-in to receive about three messages weekly about everyday activities they can do with their children. 

2014 study led by researchers at Stanford University found that Ready4K! had a positive effect on the levels to which parents engaged in home literacy activities with their children. The texting program also led to increased involvement with their child’s school. 

Now, Ready4K! is coming to Georgia for parents of 4 & 5 year old children — sign up now by texting gaready4k to 313131.  Again, this is a free, opt-in texting service. Individuals’ mobile carrier text rates may apply.

Welcome to Mountain View Elementary

We have been recognized as receiving a Title I Distinguished Schools Award.  MVE has made AYP for 5 consecutive years and has been identified as a Distinguished School for 3 years.

Parents may begin dropping off students at 7:30am. Students should be dropped off in front of school at the main entrance.

Students will be given a tardy after 8:10am

Dismissal will begin at 3:10pm 

PAWS Students for January/February

The following students were chosen by MVE faculty and staff for having Positive Attitude, Appreciative, Word Ethic, and Safety.  Pre-K - Kynlie Smith, Kindergarten - Neeyah McDaniel, 1st Grade - Cash Mooney, 2nd Grade - Max Jones, 3rd Grade Aryssa Rodas-Lopez, 4th Grade - Makayla Payne, Others - Ashley Quisquina-Arreaga.  The students are shown with Mr. Charles Walker and Mrs. April Smith
